Welcome to TiO2 Clothing
Our goal is "TiO2 apparel" that will clean the air every time you step outside.
In addition, each shirt we sell also buys 1 carbon offset. This carbon offset helps remove 1 metric ton or 2,200 lbs of carbon or CO2 pollution from the air. If you wanted to make a difference right now, this is how you do it.
*TiO2 shirts are released on a limited basis (see below).
How much CO2 does your shirt generate?
The average T-shirt generates 20 kg of CO2 during the lifecycle of the shirt, from production to washing to disposal.
To address this problem, for every shirt we sell, we buy 1 carbon offset credit. That's 1 metric ton or 2,200 lbs of CO2. That's the equivalent of removing all the carbon dioxide from 1 million cubic meters of air. Carbon offsets help TiO2 Clothing exceed sustainability and increases the overall value of renewable energy.
How exactly? The more carbon offsets we buy, the more valuable they become: supply and demand. And because carbon offsets are most often rewarded for the energy generated by renewable sources such as wind, solar, and water, we are making renewable energy more valuable with each shirt.
Jubilee Church. Rome, Italy
Richard Meier's design of the Jubilee Church in Rome was the first large scale installation of TiO2 technology (photocatalytic anatase TiO2) outside of Japan in 2003. Since then many more installations have appeared across Italy and Europe.
TiO2 Designs (Limited quantities)
TiO2 designs are air-cleaning technology in our clothes. It's a wholly unique approach to making designs functional, ecofriendly, and smart. Powered by sunlight, TiO2 designs mimic the air cleaning process of trees. The designs you love will now reduce air pollutants and remove greenhouse gases (VOCs, NOx, SO2, smog, etc.) that are responsible for climate change. Reverse climate change with your clothing.
Limited quanitities of our TiO2-shirt are available beginning of October.
About TiO2 Clothing
Our mission is to help everyone breathe healthier air. We do that by raising awareness about air pollution, by being active in our community, and by using TiO2 technology to reduce pollution levels where we live and work.
TiO2 Clothing is a startup company based in Los Angeles.
Oxygen is one of the ingredients nature uses to balance pollution from forest fires and volcanic eruptions. If the atmosphere didn't clean the air constantly, it could have devastating effects on our planet. Nearly every mass extinction on planet Earth can be traced back to too much pollution in the air from massive volcanic eruptions. Today, cars, consumer products, and industry are adding to natural air pollution at an unsustainable rate. To fight air pollution, we are using TiO2 or titanium dioxide, a food-safe mineral that's also a catalyst for oxygen purification of the air.
TiO2 is a photocatalyst. It uses light to catalyze (promote or increase) the speed of other reactions. The reaction TiO2 speeds up is the reaction of oxygen in the air with pollution. TiO2 is never used up in the process and can clean the air indefinitely.
